Bat training and walk – 8 September 2015

Twenty volunteers were trained in bat ecology and how to lead a bat walk by a member of the Bat Conservation Trust www.bats.org.uk

We then went on an exploratory walk through Postman’s Park and the Barbican Gardens with our bat detectors at the ready. There was a lot of pipistrelle activity in the Barbican with individuals flying over the lakes. The Barbican is likely to be a good roosting area with accessible spaces in the concrete. Next year we will be doing more walks and mapping where bats are observed across the City.
