About Us

Friends of City Gardens is a community group based in the City of London. We support the City’s gardens team and our aims are to enhance biodiversity; improve access to green spaces and create exciting new gardens in the City.

We engage with the business community and organise specialist workshops on enhancing green roofs for biodiversity. We organise a range of activities for all age groups in City gardens, such as curriculum-based sessions for primary schools; family fun and games; cultural and art-based events; gentle pottering for older residents; biodiversity surveys and action.

We have nearly 200 volunteers, City workers, residents and visitors to the City that live outside the Square Mile, who love our green spaces and contribute over 4,000 volunteer hours a year. Take a look at our projects for more information.
