Kingston Smith Challenge Day at Fortune Park and Bunhill Fields
For the third year running a dynamic team of volunteers from Kingston Smith joined us for a work day in Fortune Park and Bunhill Fields. The first task was to install five huge red flowerpots in the Park to provide more gardening space for the children of Prior Weston School. Fixing the pots safely in the ground proved a challenge in itself, but finally Islington Parks staff were satisfied and the team filled the pots with compost and planted them with fruit trees, herbs and soft fruit bushes donated by the RHS Greening Grey Britain campaign for Health and Wellbeing.
Then it was on to Bunhill Fields to move barrow loads of soil for our new shrub bed and plant native daffodils bulbs.
